Text messaging
Talkstead is an AI receptionist service operated by Stead Labs, LLC. Business owners who opt in receive a text message after each call Talkstead answers for their business, so they can call the customer back quickly.
Who receives texts
Only Talkstead account owners and admins who opt in, at a mobile number they enter themselves. We do not send marketing texts, and we do not text the people who call your business.
What we send
- A summary of each call Talkstead answers for your business: who called, what they need, and how to reach them.
- Account alerts about your Talkstead service.
Example:
Talkstead: New call from Mike R., (407) 555-0142. Leaking water heater, wants a quote tomorrow morning. Details: app.talkstead.com/calls. Reply STOP to opt out.
How you opt in
In the Talkstead portal at app.talkstead.com, open the Business page, enter your mobile number under “Call summaries by text,” and check the box. The box is never checked for you, and you can use Talkstead without it. Next to the box, the portal shows this text:

Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with call volume: one message per answered call, plus occasional account alerts. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message at any time, or select Stop texts on the Business page of the portal. We will confirm, and you will receive no more texts. Reply HELP for help, or email support@talkstead.com.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and the text messaging section of our Terms of Service.
